From the brand TinyCircuits, the company launched the TinyDuino platform on Kickstarter in 2012, which allowed people of all ages and skill levels to engage with electronics. TinyCircuits, based out of a 100-year-old rubber factory in the heart of Akron, Ohio, USA, designs and manufactures incredible, tiny electronic working miniature products, all made in the USA.

The Thumby, one of TinyCircuits' products, has up to 2 hours of gameplay via a 40mAh rechargeable LiPo battery. It plays audio from its piezo speaker and has 2MB of space to store games. Thumby is powered by a Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040 and has multi-player support via a Thumby link cable (sold separately).

Over 6,000 Kickstarter and Indiegogo backers supported or bought Thumby to make it a reality. It comes preloaded with 5 retro games and has 6 functioning buttons for users to fidget with. Thumby can be played solo or against friends with the Thumby Link cable, and users can upload their own drawings and animations to the device. Additional games can be added from the company's library, and users can program their own MicroPython games using the free online code editor.
